Who We Are

About the Draftling

A platform built by and for the next generation — giving young voices a space to be heard on the topics that matter most.

Your Voice
Matters — Really.

The Draftling was founded on one simple belief: that the thoughts and opinions of young people deserve to be taken seriously. Not patronised, not simplified — but heard, in full, in their own words.

We are a unique platform where the next generation can share their perspectives on any topic they choose. Music, innovation, society, science — if it matters to you, it matters to us.

Every article on this site was written by a young person. No editors rewriting their voice. No adult "improvements." Just authentic, unfiltered takes on the world as they see it.

What We Stand For

🌱
Authentic Voices
We publish young people's work as they wrote it. Their voice, their perspective, their words — with only light editorial guidance for clarity and safety.
🌍
Global Perspectives
The Draftling welcomes writers from anywhere in the world. Diversity of experience is at the heart of what makes our platform rich and meaningful.
🔐
Safe by Design
We take the safety of our young writers and readers seriously. Every submission is reviewed and all content complies with our strict safety policies.
📖
Curious & Critical
We celebrate curiosity, critical thinking, and the courage to take a position. The Draftling is a space to think out loud — and to be challenged.
🤝
Community First
The Draftling isn't a publication — it's a community. Our writers support each other, engage with each other's ideas, and grow together as thinkers.
No Gatekeeping
You don't need credentials, a platform, or connections to write for us. All you need is something to say and the courage to say it.

Writing and editing

How It Works

Any young person can apply to write for the Draftling. We accept pitches and completed pieces on any topic — from global politics to personal essays about the music that changed your life.

Submitted articles go through a light editorial review focused on clarity and adherence to our safety policies. We never alter the writer's voice or opinion.

Published writers join a growing community of young thinkers who read each other's work, comment, and collaborate. Some have gone on to write for larger publications — with the Draftling as their first byline.
