300–2,000 words
We publish pieces of all lengths. Short opinions are just as welcome as long-form essays.
🌍
Any topic
Society, politics, music, science, sport, culture, technology — if it matters to you, it's welcome here.
🎂
Under 25
The Draftling is a platform for young people. Writers must be aged 25 or under at time of submission.
🔐
Original work only
All submissions must be original. Work previously published elsewhere will not be accepted.

🌱 Submission Received!
Thank you for submitting your Draftling. We'll be in touch within 5–7 days.
Do I need writing experience?
Not at all. The Draftling has published first-time writers alongside those with years of experience. What matters is that you have something genuine to say.
How long will it take to hear back?
We aim to respond to all submissions within 5–7 days. During busy periods this may take slightly longer — but we read every single one.
Will you change my writing?
We may suggest small edits for clarity, but we never rewrite your voice. Your perspective and style are the whole point. Any changes are discussed with you first.
Can I submit more than once?
Absolutely. Many of our writers submit regularly and build up a body of work on the platform. There's no limit on submissions.
Can I write anonymously?
Yes. We collect your details privately for editorial purposes, but you can publish under a pen name or as "Anonymous" if you prefer.
What if my article is rejected?
We'll always explain why and offer feedback where we can. Rejection is rarely final — we encourage writers to revise and resubmit.
